Hi all, I am hoping the month of May is going well for you. The farm we work on has started seeding so that means hubby is working from midnight to around 2pm. Which means for me I can watch anything I want on T.V and (in theory) get lots of scraping done. I have also got to get down the cross stitch xmas stocking that I started for Iona by the beginning of December!!! I am going to be busy.
The 2 layouts I have today are Vintage and Shabby Chic. I just love doing layouts using the colours/ technique and products from these themes.
The first is Vintage
I used Kasiercraft pattern paper that I scrunched up into a ball, flattened out again and with Distress ink (tea dye) lightly inked the paper, giving an old look. You can use any ink as long as its old. Also you can use coffee or tea (yes the ones you drink) Just wait til the drink is cold and with a paint brush rub the water on the paper and set to dry.
I also inked around the red letters, cardstock and paper. I used a rub-on from Basic Grey up in the right hand corner.
The 2nd layout I finished today.....
I love this photo, could not belive when I walked outside and here are the 2 girls with pegs in their hair having a ball!!!
This layout I found I did not have orange letters or rhinestones and I wanted them on the layout as the pegs are orange. So I used creamed kasiercraft letters silver rhinestones and coloured them with an orange ink pen. You could also use ink/copic markers or the like. This just shows you don't have to run to the shops to buy something when a little thought can get you out of trouble (and when you live nearly 2hrs away from the nearest scrapbooking shop its not something I can just duck to lol)
The journalling card was a Kasiercraft rub-on that I stuck on cardstock then cut around.
I am really happy how both layouts turned out. And over the next 4 weeks of seeding hope to get more done!!
Scrapbooking Haven is having another sketch challenge, head to http://scrapbookinghaven.ning.com/events/may-sketch-challenge to add your take on the sketch and be in the run to win some prizes :)
Also a bigggg thanks to Amy (from scrapbooking haven) for getting me some yummy chipboard from Dusty Attic, CAN NOT WAIT to get them lol

3 more layouts :)
Hope everyone had a fab long Easter/Anzac weekend!!! We did not do much as just wanted to spend as much time together before seeding starts.
Now to what I have been doing. The first layout was from a sketch challage from scrapbooking haven (click here http://scrapbookinghaven.ning.com/events/april-sketch-challenge ) The sketch was from a layout that Marissa Page had done. My take is....
I just love this photo of Geoff and Iona. I found it hard as I don't normally use so many flowers and it took me ages to stick them done. The white flowers were from spotlight and are in a bunch. Due to looking silly if I laid them on the side, I used my eyelet settler to make a hole in the paper and put the stalks in and tape at the back to hold. The Big green one is prima and the rest is the new flowers from kasiercraft.
The next one is of Sophie at Australia Day Breakfast in Denmark. It was also the day Geoff became an Aussie!!!
I am just starting to get into the Glimmer Mist after not liking it when it first came out. I have found that it 'lifts' the plain cardstock without overpowering the page with tooo much pattern paper.
Last one is one that I wanted to do for ages but could not work out how to make it look its best
Everytime I look at these photos I get a giggle lol :)
The paper I have no idea were it came from but it went well with the photos. The Kasiercraft letters I inked, then embossed with Opals embossing enamels. It still needed something so I drawed from flowers in pink on them.
I have also (thanks to seeing Marissa Page to it to one of her layouts) matt my coloured photos with black paper as it really helps to make them stand out.

Sketch card from Scrap your socks off
Hi, just showing off the card I made using a card sketch from 'Scrap Your Socks Off'
Can not tell u what paper I used as they were scraps but the stamps were Kasiercraft and Stampin up and the rhinestones were a kasiercraft arrow that I would never use cut up to make the swirls
Please head to their blog for detail (link is on the side of my page under blogs I like)

Latest page :)
Well I doing great, 2 posts in 4 days!!!!! But I just had to share my latest page that I did of Iona
The flower at the bottom of page is hand made from using the cuttlebug marchine and the spellbinders standaed circles, distress the edges and inked. I aslo used left over Prima flourishes for the center.
The rhinestone word 'unique' was clear but did not suit the page so I inked the stones with Versa ink
Oh the whole I just love this page!!! The glimmer mist background lifted the cardstock and the stitches around the page go with the stitches on Iona dress. I had a lot of fun doing this page :)

New Layout
Hi just a quick post on a new layout that I have just done. Its of my 2 daughters just before we moved up north. I just love this photo. You can really see how much Iona loves her big sister and nothing has changed much.
I love the how the pink and teal went soooo well together. It was a pain in the rear end trying to balance the embellishments (even asked hubby what he thought, BIG mistake lol) but in the end think I got it just the way I wanted. Also I am getting better at the memory keepers sew easy tool. The stitching not looking so crooked lol

My January DT pack
Hi, hope everyone is having a great aussie day!
Just thought I would put up my layout I did with the fab papers from Webster pages 'Home for the holidays' range.
As you can see I did not do a Christmas page, but one of my oldest daughter in the bush. I just lave this photo and the paper went sooooooo well with it. Behind the photo is a Prima handmade paper 'Natural Obsession Botanical'. After much ummming and arrrring I decided to leave it as it was instead of using glimmer mist. I wanted a natural look. Add in Kaisercraft lace, paint and peals, Prima flower and butterfly, some buttons and off cause the heart die under one of the buttons and the page was nearly finished.
I had a lot of issues with the title. Nothing seemed right and after putting 2 different styles down, I decided to use a stamp from Finishing Touch Ideas with a ink that went well with the paper. The paint under it really lifted the title.
Very happy this page. And best of all done within 3hrs, including waiting for paint to dry. Most of these items came from Scrapbooking Haven. Please head over there for a great range in products with fab prices :)
Til next time
