Layouts using Teresa Collins 'Family Stories' range

Hi on this long weekend Monday (in W.A) and the start of our school holidays. I have not been blogging much due to family sport but now that's over I will be getting back into the swing again.

Today's post is all about the very fab Teresa Collins 'Family Stories' range that I got from Mad About Scrappin'. Now I have to say all of Teresa's range is my fav. I have brought a lot from the Flog It Fridays that MAS does and they are just AWESOME to work with.

Here is the 2 (so far) layouts that I have done:

I misted with black ink first up. I then cut 2 papers from the range to a size I liked, punched the edge and inked with black. I also punched the background paper for something different.

These words are from WOW chipboard and come in an awesome pack (there is more in the packet then these ones) All I did was inked them and glued on.

The words used here are from a Die Cut page from the Family Stories range. There is an awesome a ray of cuts. The flowers are from MAS as well.

Simple page but sooo fun to make. Now for number 2:

In this one I used loads of the die cuts (more then I normally ever do) The paper is still from Family Stories (see who fab it is, from a family photo in the yard to a park/beach one)

I used them for the title. I also layed one die cut under the word family to give it a lift

Another one to add extra details of when the photo was taken

And here for the banner. Now the flair of from Studio Fourteen40. I have been told they will have a web shop soon so find them on facebook and keep up with all their info!!!

If you are into PL this range will also be perfect for you. I soooo will be buying all the ranges from Teresa Collins when MAS gets them in.

SPEECH BUBBLES

Awesome for PL or normal layouts. I just had the perfect photos that would go so well with these that I did a double layout for the first time in YEARS!!!

And a close up of each page:

I painted all the speech bubbles black and then used alphas from my stash

I also used the 'SPLAT' stencil from A2Z

The title and the fab creations from Charm Creations (the sun, heart and flower)

More speech bubbles :D

And more awesome Charm Creations

FWAB Challenge....First Photo At Our Farm

Hello, I finally did a layout for the Flourish With A Bling Challenge. For all the details head HERE

Here is my layout:

This photo is the first photo we took of our girls on the farm we just brought (yes I know it has our number in it but as its at the end of the drive and anyone can see it I decided it was not a big deal)

And some close ups:

For the background I grabbed the brick stencil from A2Z and with a VersaMark Watermark stamp I inked the stencil all over my background. I then embossed it with clear embossing power. This made the brick with a sheen look. I grabbed my blue and yellow Gelato and put some on the paper (blue on the outside and yellow in the middle with a bit of blue) With a bit of water and mixing the yellow turned green and blended it with the blue around the edge. The pebbles are from Handmade Halo.

I used the same colours and technique for the A2Z Leaves Scraplets (after gessoing first). I have used a bandage from the first aid box, added some mist and put it behind the photo. Finished off with some FWAB Pearls, Mad About Scrappin' Flowers and Handmade Halo charm.

The title.

And last (but not least) a charms creation mini runner, more FWAB and charm from Handmade Halo.

This layout started with me playing around with Gelatos and working out different ways to use them.

Blind Challenge at A2Z Scraplets

Dt Amy has set the challenge this month at A2Z and its a blind challenge. A blind challenge is doing a layout from a set of instructions and when finished you email the layout to a set person. The layouts are not published til a set date so no one gets a sneak look.

Ok so the products you will need to complete this layout includes….
-          3 -  3’x4’ photos OR 1 – 6’x4’photo
-          5 x Coordinating Patterned Papers
-          1 x Coordinating Plain Cardstock
-          1 x Stencilet, Mask or Template
-          Coordinating Sprays, Mists, Watercolour Paints and/or Gesso, Modelling Paste etc.
-          Spray Lid or other tiny thimble size cup
-          Hand or Machine Stitching
-          Ink/Paint, Distress Tool or Nail File
-          1m of twine or embroidery floss
-          Chipboard Title or Alpha Stickers
-          Optional Flair or buttons (only if you do not want to make/use flowers)

Instructions…
1.       Using your mask/template/stencilet and Spray/Mist/Paint/Gesso, add the pattern randomly to your plain cardstock piece focusing largely on the centre and top right corner and bottom left corner.
2.       Fill a spray lid or some other small thimble sized cup with some of your spray/mist/paint. If you used a thicker paint, mix a tiny bit with some water to create a watery liquid and fill the lid. Standing about 30cm above your layout, slowly tilt your lid/cup slightly to allow drips and splatters to create near your mask work.
3.       While the background is drying, cut your patterned paper into the following sizes and distress all edges. You can distress your edges either using a distressing tool, nail file or using your scissors (see video tutorial below), inking or painting. Sizes to cut your paper are 1st piece -20cm x 10cm, 2nd piece - 20cm x 10cm, 3rd piece – 8cm x 20cm, 4th piece – 15cm x 10cm & 5th piece – 5cm x 20cm (cut a triangle from the bottom of this piece to look like a banner before distressing). I have listed measurements showing the width x height if you have patterned paper that requires patterns to be used in one direction.
4.       Layer your patterned paper in the centre of your layout on top of each other randomly using the largest piece at the bottom and the smallest on top. Play with the layers before you stick them down so you are 100% happy with their placement. I like to place everything down, then take a photo with my mobile phone so I can easily remove everything and start to adhere the papers how you liked.
5.       Using your twine/floss, create a triple layered circle in the centre of your page. I find it easier to get perfect circles by using an old 2 litre soft drink bottle to wrap the twine around softly 3 times then sliding off carefully keeping the circle shape. You could also draw a perfect circle as a guideline to cover with the twine etc.
6.       Add some random stitching to the edges of some of your patterned paper. Zig Zags are a fun look when randomly used.
7.       Distress the edges of your photo/photos using the same method that you used for your papers and then adhere using some 3D Foam tape or other 3D Adhesive in the centre of your patterned paper layers and circle.
8.       Paint your Chipboard title using the same Paiyournt/Spray/Gesso that you used to stencil your background and then adhere it to the bottom left corner of your photo once dry. If you haven’t got a chipboard title, you can add a title using Alphabet stickers on the bottom left of the photo. You want the title to slightly overlap the photo (by no more than 1cm).
9.       Using your scraps of Patterned Paper, create 3 different sized handmade flowers and add them in front of your title in a mini cluster. If you would prefer to not use flowers, add some buttons or flair here instead.
10.   Your layout is complete! I hope you have had fun following these simple instructions. If you have any enquiries please email amy_prior AT live DOT com with your questions.

Email your layout to challenges@a2zscraplets.com.au

I am so excited to see how everyone interprets this challenge. Good luck everyone and don’t forget to link up and share the news. The more entries we get, the more prizes will be given away yippee!!!!!!

Big Sister plus Flog It Friday and A2Z Kits!!!!

Hello, I am back to show you another layout that I did for Mad About Scrappin. I just love this photo, the first of my oldest girl with her new sister when she was a day old.

Again this paper is from the Pink Paislee Cottage Farm range. I just loved that there was paper that you could add extra info about the photo and make it part of the background.

All these fab flowers and leaves are from Mad About Scrappin along with the heart bling.

More flowers, leaves and these awesome hearts!!! They also come in stars.

This is the only bit that did not come from the shop. The stencil is from Kaisercraft and the title from A2Z Scraplets. I have to say I did not 'do' much but I wanted the photo and the meaning to be front and center and not lost in techniques.

NOW if you want to go shopping at Mad About Scrappin they are having their FLOG IT FRIDAY this Friday as well as having a 15% discount on there already low prices!!!! You might get a few things if your quick before I do my shopping ;) Head to the EVENT page (HERE) on facebook for extra details but the sale will be on their website (HERE)

Also A2Z Scraplets has a few kits for sale and I mean a really big sale!!!! Over $60 worth of paper, flowers (prima and a few others), mists, Flourlish With A Bling and of course A2Z Scraplets and stencils for $35 dollars and under (there is a mix of scrapbooking and card kits)
