2 very different layouts using Heidi Swapp paper

Soooo its been awhile AGAIN since I blogged. ...... But really where is time going??? Its been busy in the Scott household with school and sport but now swimming club is nearly finished it should get better.... oh wait its then the hockey and Auskick season 'SIGH'

Anyway here are 2 layouts that I created from my DT pack from Mad About Scrappin. They are 2 very different layout, showing you that you don't always need to buy one range for Mixed Media type layouts and another range for the other kinds of layouts.

First up the mix media one:

For this layout I used 2 sheets of paper from the Heidi Swapp Serendipity range. One was kept as a background while the other I cut a few strips off and stuck down on the background. I then gessoed randomly on the strips edges to tie it in better with the background. Then grabbing an Heidi Swapp Stencil I added some circles with texture paste.

I then painted these amazing Frames with some Shimmerz Bling stuff and stuck them down on the page. Then I stuck some lace down randomly too. I also stamped a bit using a Prima brick stamp and ran some mist down the page.

Here is another awesome frame, cut in half and put top and bottom of photo. Used HEAPS of the new Flowers at MAS and some Flourish With A Bling Pearls

I also layered some Prima Lace and silver lace thingy under the photo too.

Now for the 2nd layout:

I created this background by grabbing some white cardstock and with Shimmerz Texturez paints and A2Z Scraplets stencil I added the chevrons. I the sprayed the page with a green Shimmerz Spray and ended up with a nice green background.

With a Black Pen I drew around the cardstock and papers and photo. I then added Flowers

The 'Love and Together' were then stuck down and I added the being from October Afternoons.

And done. A quick layout but bright and fun. All the words highlighted when clicked on takes you to Mad About Scrappin Store where you can buy the items.

Don't forget the Sketch Challenge that MAS has on:

Enter on their Blog page and you could be the winner of one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!!!! how awesome is that :D

Together Time- Stuck? Sketch Challenge

I am here to show you my very 1st layout EVER for a Stuck? Sketch Challenge. Fellow A2Z DT Bel Wood entered the challenge and I just loved her take on the sketch sooo much I had to do one as well.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I just love this photo (but hey, don't I say that about all of them lol ) Its of my hubby and our 3 girls on a beach in Port Denison, W.A. Its 'our' spot. We live a short drive from this town and when we just want a morning off the farm this is where we go to.

For the background I took a My Mind Eye paper and painted on (in a shape of L) Shimmerz Paints Dazzelerz( Gummy Berry Blue). Then on top of that Shimmerz Bling, (Under the sea), which gives it a glitter look. Once dried I painted over that with Shimmerz, (Sunny) .Once the L was finished I lightly painted over the page using the colours sunny and under the sea. Then with a Prima Spot Stamp i stamped heavy in the L area and lightly over the page.

Now for the embellishments. The flowers are Prima, D'Lish Scraps and Mad About Scrappin (as is the Doily) The Flair is Flutterbys

The Frame and Banner's are A2Z. The frame was gessoed and then painted with Shimmerz (Aqua Marine) and then heat dry to get that bumpy texture look. The Banners where gessoed with Gelatos on top. While still wet I stamped over them with the Prima spot Stamp. The paper is from Echo Park. The word Time is from Prima, painted with Shimmerz (sunny).

Here is the sketch:

More cards

Hi today I am showing you a few cards I made with leftover paper from my kit from Mad About Scrapping (I Love Candy from Echo Park)

First up is a card I made using the very last of the scraps. The 'No matter' was a die cut that came with the range. After sticking it all down I stamped the Kaisercraft stamp over it and added the Flourish With A Bling pearls.

After gluing the 2 layers of paper I used a sticker from the sticker sheet that came with the range. The stamp I used is from Stampin' Up

The base of this one was a die cut, I added another die cut over it with some seam binding (type of ribbon) and the stamp is again from Stampin' Up.

All in all done in 30mins. Great if you need that quick card or wanting to create when you don't have much time.

Head to the MAS store HERE for great prices and HERE for the blog (don't forget the sketch challenge)

Sketch Challenge for MAS

Hi everybody!!!! I have been sooo very quite on here due to school holidays and cross stitching my youngest daughter Christmas Stocking (I want it finished by dec) But I have still been scrapping up a storm.

Today I want to show you the sketch challenge for Mad About Scrapping and some  of the prizes that are up for grabs. It has changed and the challenge is now being ran though their blog with a Linky to link up from your blog to the challenge.

First here is my take on the sketch:

I have used NO pattern paper and lots of mix media. The background was created by using Gelatos, Shimmerz Paints Dazzerlers (the green in the circle) Shimmerz Bling, Hedi Swapp Spray and Kaisercraft Stamps. Lots and lots of layering til I got the look I wanted.

Instead of  paper I used washi tape and layered it a bit on each other. I have also used an A2Z Scraplet (the new owner has the machine up and running, WATCH THIS SPACE)

The title was Prima that I spayed with orange mist

To finish off a Charms Creation heart and a D'Lish Scraps flower.

Here is the sketch:

As you can see I used 1 photo instead of 4 (Amy Prior did a fab job creating this sketch)

And the prizes that are up for grabs are:

Head HERE for the MAS Blog.

Also MAS has a sale on check it out HERE, loads of chipboard, veneer, frames, paper up for grabs!!!!

JOY

Hi I am back today to show my first ever OTP item that was published in Scrapbooking Memories. It is the word JOY with pics of my girls. When I created this I wanted something for Christmas and something that I could change photos so it did not have dated photos on it. This is what I came up with:

I will show you a letter then a close up. For each letter I gessoed, painted red and then added crackle paint. With my fingers I added the bits of white in the cracks. I also lightly stamped in some areas with a Kaisercraft stamp. The vine is a Cheery Lynn die and flowers are Prima and Scrapbooking In Geraldton.

Each letter a A2Z Scraplets. They were inked and embossed silver.

The photos are thumb tacked on the letters so I can change the photo as they get older. I distressed each photo and then matted them.

I added charms from Handmade Halo (now closed) and beads from Scrapbooking In Geraldton

The tiny ladybugs and butterflies are filmo.

So that is it. I had a ball making these and they looked awesome up this Christmas. The letters can be found in spotlight and come in the whole alphabet.
